At ECOTIC we are proud to have been, throughout these years, a pioneering and leading organisation at both national and European level, driving innovation and promoting eco-design in the sector. Since our foundation in 2005, we have remained convinced that the responsible management of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is essential for protecting the environment and advancing towards a truly circular economy. All of this has always been guided by the values that define us: professionalism, efficiency and transparency.
Throughout our history we have promoted and strengthened public awareness of the social and environmental benefits of proper WEEE recycling. We know that, beyond technical management, educating and engaging society is key to moving towards a more sustainable, respectful model.
Our commitment has not only grown stronger but is also reflected in the steady expansion of our network of 1,700 affiliated producers, consolidating our position as a leader in WEEE management in Spain. This growth has been made possible by collaborative, excellence-driven management, which continues to underpin operations.
Through PRONEXA (formerly WEEE Europe) and the WEEE Forum, we have built international partnerships that allow us to share knowledge, best practices and resources with other stakeholders committed to the proper management of electronic waste across Europe.
The major technological changes that have transformed the sector have led us to broaden our scope to meet new challenges. The creation of ECOTIC Entidad Administradora S.L. in January 2022 marked a significant step forward in optimising the services offered to producers and collection points, improving organisation and strengthening synergies for more efficient waste management.
We have also reinforced our commitment to wider, more cross-cutting sustainability that reaches additional sectors. ECOTIC Envases will promote solutions for the integrated management of packaging waste, while Fundación ECOTIC Clima is already addressing the management of air-conditioning equipment waste, encouraging sustainable practices in a field that is crucial in the fight against climate change. Through these initiatives, we continue to expand our positive impact, driving innovation and responsibility across every sector we touch.
